My little guy is growing up!

And I am not talking about Bryce! Dallin will always be my baby. He is such a sweet kid and I love my relationship with him. The day before we left for CA he lost his first tooth! He is so obsessed with making money right now, that I would not be surprised if he wiggled it to make it come out! Anyway, he was excited to recieve a note and a dollar coin from the tooth fairy.

Last week, he started kindergarten. We put him in the local charter school for many reasons. One main one is they have a 4 day school week. I love the idea of having Fridays with my kids. That also means that kindergarten is 4 hours a day instead of the dreaded 2 1/2 hours. They also have a school uniform, which I love, and they have smaller classes. I have heard great things about the school and its curriculum and I am very happy with our decision.

Getting ready for school was a little crazy because we had just returned from our trip. I was so busy getting all the logistics taken care of, that I wasn't prepared for how emotional I would be. He looked so grown up. I am proud of him and I am anxious to see how he likes school. So far, he is really enjoying it. He loves to bring home new books from the library. He is also so proud when his card stays green. (No behavior warnings.) I am sure that will wear off soon, but for now I am enjoying his excitement. I love you, Dallin!

I loved this post. My oldest will start kindergarten next year and this year it hit me! I think I'll worry about it all year. :)

I can't even imagine my child being old enough to go to kindergarten.
Where in CA did you grow up?

Oh, he looks so handsome. I just love school uniforms. I wish my kids were required to wear them!
