Back to School 2019

The first person who went back to school was actually Kelly! She decided to get her Masters in Teaching to get her PE teaching license to teach kids in grades K-12. She is planning on teaching middle school PE if she can find the right job! She goes 2 nights a week on Tues/Thurs and will finish in June 2021. It's been an adjustment but the family is very supportive.
When we moved back to our old neighborhood, Emily and Dallin still went to the same high school, but Bryce and Caden both went to new schools. Emily is now a freshman, Dallin is a senior, Bryce is a 7th grader and Caden is in 1st grade!

When the kids are at school, sometimes Kelly is able to have adventures with other Moms. This one was a rainy bike ride followed by hot chocolate.
She still enjoys running with friends whenever she gets a chance.
She is coaching middle school cross country with 2 other really good friends.
Emily loves fashion and photography and likes exploring photo aesthetics!
Caden is enjoying first grade and Kelly was able to join him for the fun run.

He is taking Tae Kwan Do with his good friend Matthew! They are working their way through the belts!
Dallin is dating a sweet girl named Cassie and they went to Homecoming together this year.

Emily dressed up with her good friends and went to the Homecoming dance without dates.
Jeff and Kelly are enjoying lunch dates once a week and having fun together when they can.
Caden enjoys being on his scooter and playing with neighbors.
I was so happy to have Bryce join me on the cross country team this year! It makes me so happy to see him set and reach goals!

Boating this year was a little bit of a bummer but we did get out a few times. The big news is that the boat fit in the new garage! :-)

It's been a beautiful fall. A new skate park was built right by our house and Caden has spent a lot of time here with friends. The older kids are really sweet to him and I love seeing him learn a new hobby.

02/19/2019- A great day to blog!

Well, I have missed blogging and having a record for my family, so I have decided to come back and do it again. I am going to try and fill in where I can, but moving forward my goal is to blog once a month.

Here is our family at the beginning of 2019. This was a picture taken on our property.

We have had a few big things this year.
Emily and Bryce were both inducted into National Junior Honor Society.

Kelly went to a training in Seattle for Track and Field and it was snowing up there and she swam in the heated pool!

There is a little bit of snow in Sherwood.

Kelly started working as a substitute for the schools! She will start as an instructional assistant and then work up to the full time teacher.

We celebrated Dallin's 17th birthday. (No pictures on his special day though. He wouldn't let me take any!)

2017- A year of Change

It is time to update my blog! I have a blog book from 2007-2011 and now I want to have a blog book from 2012-2017. So, I have some work to do! Since I am sending out Christmas cards again, it is a good time. :-)

2017 started out with some fun time with friends.

Then for Jeff's birthday, we met up with the Schaffers for a getaway that included skiing and swimming.

Sherwood had a very crazy winter with the most snow I had seen in our 16 years of living there! School was canceled the days before Christmas break and Emily even had to audition for the community play by video! They learned their lines over Christmas break and only had a few rehearsals before they performed. It was an amazing process to watch it all come together. I love watching Emily shine on stage.

Caden started nursery with his buddies!
We got the most snow I have ever seen in 16 years in Sherwood. They had a bunch of snow days. Church was even canceled! The kids loved it at first but then got over it. I felt pretty cooped up. I was ready for it to be gone even though it was pretty.

Our fun neighbors had a hot chocolate party.

Caden and Bryce read to the dogs at the library.

I did love running in the snow with Ambush though!
I went with Bryce on a field trip to OMSI.

Our first camping trip with just our family. We needed some time away from screens and life so we escaped to the Wallowa Mountains also known in Oregon as Little Switzerland. We were supposed to stay 4 days and watch fireworks on 4th of July, but Caden was not the best tent mate and the kids wanted to be in Sherwood for the 4th. We had a great time though.

We loved being able to have all the kids biking around the campground.

We got back to Sherwood junst in time for the festivities.
