Help! Trying to find the right side of my brain...

I have always been very analytical. Numbers, I love numbers! I can memorize very quickly, which has served me well. (My short term memory, now that's another story! Just ask me where my keys are...) I love science and math, and I graduated from BYU in Microbiology. (I know this surprises a lot of people.) I did well in my English classes in high school and even in college because I had great reading comprehension and the essays we were assigned were very formulaic. I always struggled with creative writing and dissecting an author's intent. I joined a book club a few years ago, hoping the other women would rub off on me. I don't have an artistic bone in my body, but I do feel I must have some creativity hiding somewhere. So, if you have any ideas for how to find it, please let me know. This month, especially, that is what I want to work on. Of course, my blogs will still be about my children and my sweet hubby and the chaos that is my life, but I am also trying to stretch myself in my writing.

Wish me luck and come back to visit often!

Look at you! Two days in a row. You're off to a good start! I hope this exercise does relieve stress and release the creative juices.

read this blog. This lady and her family are the most creative people I've ever seen. I love it! It's inspiring for me. Hopefully you as well.

Hmm, I find htat the more I get down and play with my girls and each time I have to try and fashion a dinner from empty cupboards and a pathetic fridge, my creativity soars. Kidding. I think oyu need to forgive yourself first, and perhaps go a little easier on how you perceive your creativity, I'd wager you have far more than you think.

Good luck on your commitment to write for 30 days! Only 28 posts to go. Creativity would come. Just keep writing. I will be back to your blog. Come visit me at my blog when you can.

One thing I love about people is that we are all different. No one is exactly the same, we have different things that each of us can give to one another. I am one that finds that friends come in my life for a reason, some stay, some are only there to get me through that time never to be forgotten.

I am saying this so that you find what you love, not what someone else loves. You are creative in your own way. Look what you do with children all the time, that is creative. I on the other hand am not creative in playing with my kids, but allow me to put together a birthday party and I love it. So don't compare yourself to anyone, but you. Find what you love and than make it grow, expand on it. Share it. You can write, you have done it many times. To you it may be nothing, but to someone else it might be the laugh, the smile or just about anything they needed. Most of all to your family it is who you are and what you are doing. So one day your daughter will know that yes even her mom had a hard time with something, yes even her mom wanted to sell her kids, and she will feel that much closer to you.

I guess what I am saying in my long post, is that I am excited the next month to read every day about Kelly, about who SHE is wanting to be, what she loves, what she is working towards, not because the neighbor, the blogger, the friend is good at that, or you feel that she should be good at that, but because it is what you love and want. don't waste the energy trying to be anyone but YOU. I know I like her a lot.

Yahoo, 2 days, 2 entries. I was not a writer. But I realized how much I was forgetting. Funny stories, cute moments, general life moments. So inspired by Suzie, I started to blog. Now, I am a little bit addicted. The comments help.

I am attempting to blog daily this month too, but I know I will miss a few days when we head to the beach for a well deserved break.

I added you to my bookmarks, so I will check in often and comment too. Feel free to come by do the same.

I think you are much more creative than you give yourself credit for. And I cannot dissect an authors meaning either. And I love numbers too. I am loving teaching math and science.
